Jumping, flying, splashing pooches will take over the Lake Metroparks Farmpark pond when members of Buckeye DockDogs demonstrate Dock Jumping during Working Dog Weekend, June 7 and 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dog/handler teams will exhibit their different techniques for success in Big Air, the long jump equivalent for canine athletes in DockDog competitons. Those new to the sport can get tips from club members, and learn the benefits of joining Buckeye DockDogs, the local chapter of the international organization DockDogs.
Working Dog Weekend showcases how man’s best friend works alongside people in jobs including law enforcement, herding, hunting, therapy, and daily living. Watch versatile, hard-working canine companions, including retrievers, Border Collies, and hounds perform demonstrations on search and rescue, police work, herding, agility and obedience.
